Terms of Service

Last updated: April 26, 2026

1. Who you're contracting with

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you (the "User") and Ahmed, an individual sole proprietor based in Egypt, trading as Veritas (the "Service Provider", "we", "us", or "our"), operating the Veritas document automation platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you are an individual, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

2. The Service

Veritas is a software-as-a-service platform that allows users to upload documents (PDFs, images, and supported text formats), perform optical character recognition (OCR), extract structured fields, and ask grounded questions whose answers are verified against the source document.

3. Your account and acceptable use

You must keep your account credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

You agree not to:

  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • upload documents you do not have the right to process, including documents containing third-party personal data without a lawful basis;
  • attempt to defraud, abuse, or evade any usage limits, including by creating multiple accounts;
  • send spam, malware, or attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the Service;
  • scrape, probe, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
  • resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent;
  • use the Service to generate, store, or process content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful to others.

4. Intellectual property

We retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, documentation, models, and branding. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual property to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service.

You retain ownership of the documents you upload ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and analyze that content solely to provide the Service to you, including running OCR, generating embeddings, and producing answers to your queries.

5. AI-generated output and accuracy

Veritas uses third-party large language models and OCR providers to process your documents. Although we apply a strict grounding verifier and refuse to return unverified answers, AI-generated output may still contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. You are responsible for reviewing all outputs before relying on them — especially for legal, financial, medical, or other regulated decisions. Outputs from the Service do not constitute legal, financial, medical, tax, or professional advice.

You must not use outputs to:

  • generate content intended to deceive, harass, or defame any person;
  • produce non-consensual or unlawful imagery or text;
  • circumvent content moderation, safety filters, or security controls;
  • make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without appropriate human review.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with reasonable notice. Payment processing, invoicing, tax collection, and currency conversion are handled by Paddle (see Section 7).

You may cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy. Detailed payment terms, including renewal, currency, and tax mechanics, are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

7. Reseller and Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries related to billing and handles returns.

8. Service availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Scheduled maintenance, third-party provider outages (including OCR or AI gateway providers), and force-majeure events may cause temporary unavailability.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

  • you materially breach these Terms;
  • your account is past due on payment;
  • your use creates a security or legal risk to us or other users;
  • we are required to do so by law or court order.

Where reasonably possible, we will give you notice and an opportunity to cure. On termination, you will have a reasonable window (no less than 30 days) to export your data unless prohibited by law.

10. Warranties and disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, death, or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims arising from (a) your User Content, (b) your unlawful use of the Service, or (c) your breach of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
